Participate in Reducing Linden Hill's Carbon Footprint

Volunteer to be a point person for the Organics Collection!  Type your email address in the button below and pick "compost captain" as your group. We will train you at a fun orientation and the time commitment is minimal. You'll answer questions for your neighbors, and provide feedback to us on what is and isn't working. Alternatively, sign up below and pick "general interest" if you prefer to just stay informed on composting plus other events and porgrams. We email on average once a month or less. Email us about joining one of our committee below. Email: info@lhpowerandlight.org

new to the area and surprised that with all the sustainability projects going on in Linden Hills that the coop still gives out bags - arent they just adding to the counter on this site?

The co-op encourages recycling and reusing bags. They have a stash at the front door that people can re-use and give reward coupons to people who bring their own bags (coupons are put in the little clear box at the exit door to benefit local environmental projects). The ones they do give out new are sturdy thick gauge plastic that can be re-used many times. I guess as a retailer they have to porvide some means of getting their goods home for those who forget their canvas bags, but I'm sure it's a surprisingly small number.
name the digester
